With the recent publishing of Dr Mohammed Akram Nadwi’s “Ibn Hazm on the lawfulness of women praying in the masjid”, the OUISoc and Wilaya Trust are proud to present the event ‘Women in Education & Prayer Spaces’. The event will consist of a talk by Dr Mohammed Akram Nadwi on the matter, followed by a Q&A session, and lastly an opportunity for book signings.
Shaykh Dr Mohammed Akram Nadwi is a world renowned Islamic research scholar, with over 30 published books in the fields of Hadith, Fiqh, Arabic grammar and syntax. He famously completed a 53 volume series on Al Muhaddithat, a comprehensive work on the contributions of Women Scholars in Islam. He was previously a research fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, and is currently the Director of Al-Salam Institute and the Dean of Cambridge Islamic College.
