Ramadan Donation

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “If a person gives Iftar to a fasting person in this month, his sins will be forgiven. And he will be given as many rewards as has that fasting person.”

Some of the Companions of the Prophet upon hearing this asked: what if they weren’t rich enough to give an Iftar meal to a fasting person? Then the Prophet said: “The rewards will be given even to a person who gives a date as the Iftar or who provides water to break the fast or who offers a little milk.”
(Narrated by Bayhaqi)

What we do for Ramadan

Thanks to the generous donations we receive, we are able to host free Iftars every day during the holy month of Ramadan. These Iftars are the backbone of the Muslim community in Oxford, providing a space for everyone to come together and share a meal each night. We see many Muslims joining the ISOC in this period and others fasting for the first time in years because of the atmosphere it creates, bringing them closer to Islam.

This relies entirely on donations, so we would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make! We expect around 100-120 students to break the fast with us every night. We’re very efficient with expenditure, with the the total cost of a daily Iftar, including dates, drinks, a full meal and fruits, being around £280. Whether you’d like to sponsor a full night or contribute pennies, we’d be very grateful!

How to donate

If you wish to contribute to our Iftars, please donate by transferring to the bank details below, with “Ramadan2018” as a reference. This way we avoid paying fees on donations, making sure all your money goes to Iftar! Jazakallah Khair!
