One of the best things a Muslim student can do while at university is memorise Quran. It’s always easier and more fun to do when you’re amongst friends who can motivate and help you long so make the most of this unique environment while you still can!
Memorising the Quran is like placing the brightest lamp in your chest which will be a source of illumination throughout your life. The Prophet(PBUH) told us that on the last day:
“It shall be said to the Companion of the Qur’an, ‘Recite [of what you have memorized] and rise up, recite [melodiously] as you would recite in the world. For indeed your rank shall be at the last Ayah [verse] you recite.”
The much-anticipated Sisters’ Halaqah will be starting this week, lead by Sister Samiha Mohsen who has been given permission by her teachers to teach what they have taught her.
Insha’Allah the Halaqah will meet every week and begin with memorising Surat Al-Hadeed together using traditional methodologies which give all students an opportunity to ensure that they know how to correctly recite the verses before committing them to memory. Please note however that the emphasis will very much be on memorisation and not Tajweed.
Date and Time: Saturday 24th November, 19:00 – 19:40
Location: Prayer Room (Sisters Only)
Facilitator: Samiha Mohsen
