Assalamu’Alaikum! I’m Aman, the President of the Oxford Islamic Society for 2024/2025.I work closely with Anisha and Saim in managing the day-to-day operations of the ISoc. We collectively guide the committee and facilitate their efforts to create enriching initiatives and events. Our goal is to continuously expand and enhance our offerings, catering to the needs of Oxford’s diverse and growing Muslim community. We strive to nurture an environment that fosters both spiritual and personal growth, whilst creating a sense of unity and belonging within our community. It is by the grace of God that I am this year’s Male Vice-President. I will work closely with Anisha and Aman to ensure the Islamic Society at Oxford provides a strong community for the Muslim students here; for indeed there is nothing more beneficial to a Muslim’s heart than to mix with the righteous and watch their actions.

The Muslim students at Oxford hold great potential to impact society and I will ensure that they are given the opportunity to excel, grow and become the leaders of tomorrow, inshaAllah.

I’m Khadija, and I study English at Worcester College. As the ISoc Secretary, I’m responsible for managing lots of admin-y tasks, from responding to your emails, to writing the weekly newsletter!

Although my role is based primarily behind-the-scenes, I’m always happy to engage with members of the community, and support the other committee members with their roles.

My responsibilities as a treasurer include overseeing the income and expenditure of the ISOC, ensuring we prioritise the welfare of the community whilst following Allah's guidance on not being wasteful. I'm Jafar, a first year history undergraduate at Keble College, and will be operations officer insha'Allah. This role will involve the maintenance of the prayer room, and assisting other committee members in their running of events, and provide a helping hand wherever needed.

Essentially I’ll get some motives started for the bros and I’m gonna try make sure you can have some fun in Oxford, without missing any deadlines (no promises tho). Additionally if any of you are struggling with something and need someone to talk to (at your own discretion) I’ll always be about. I will be responsible for organising weekly classes, religious lectures, and communal activities such as reflection circles and congregational prayers. I’m Sumaya and my role this year is Politics Officer. My role entails encouraging fruitful and challenging discussions ranging from the plight of Muslims globally to the cultural and intellectual richness of our history. Our religion of Islam encompasses everything, from political systems to social order. Yet we often are confused on how to understand and approach pressing social issues in a way that’s not only effective but also pleasing to Allah. By organising events like academic talks and group discussions, I hope to foster an environment where we can learn, understand and implement our Islamic principles in the face of growing trials.


”He cried, “No! Your souls must have tempted you to do something evil. So I am left with nothing but beautiful patience! I trust Allah will return them all to me. Surely He alone is the All-Knowing, All-Wise.” {Quran 12:83}

My aim this year inshaAllah as the Student Affairs Officer is to to campaign for all Muslims’ needs in Oxford as well as helping to foster the community by making sure everyone is comfortable to voice their needs and concerns whether this is work related or even just for emotional support. InshaAllah I also want to revamp the pidge-a-pres and reach out to new speakers.

As the Access Director for this year, my role is centred around making Oxbridge more accessible to Muslim students regardless of their socio-economic background. Throughout the year our Access Team host a range of events from offer holder days, school visits, personal statement schemes and much more! This is all in hopes to show that Oxbridge can be a real attainable goal, and as a faith society we are able to highlight the accommodations available for Muslim students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any ideas or questions about the work we do or if you’d like to volunteer at our events!Aside from working with prospective students, I am very keen on community engagement and bringing together communal experiences. I look forward to being a part of Isoc’s development this year and seeing it flourish! I’m Irfan, a first year medic at Merton.As Alumni Officer for the coming year, my role involves providing our esteemed alumni a means of staying close and connected to Isoc by arranging exciting and accessible reunion events, including the popular alumni vs students football match, park picnics and more. I look forward to inviting past students to share their uni experiences in subject panels and workshops, which will be of benefit to us all InshaAllah. Additionally, we aim to refresh the alumni donor scheme by giving further purpose to donations, making donating more accessible and keeping alumni regularly updated on how their contributions propel our society.

Asalamu'alaykum, my name is Rumaysaa, my role on the committee is to take care of the OUISoc website and social media to keep you all updated on the latest events, announcements and highlights of the term. In addition, my role is also to work with the Ikhlaas magazine and to help anyone with any tech-related queries.

With my experience on social media, I am looking to raise awareness about the amazing supportive community we have here at Oxford, to make prospective and current students feel welcomed here. I believe social media is a powerful tool to engage with students across the world, academic excellence should be normalised across the Muslim community. I hope to help you all realise how much potential you all have.

I’m tasked with creating our society’s visual identity through, posters, banners, videos, and social posts for upcoming events. Insha’Allah with every addition to our graphic identity we are able to attract more people to learn about Islam and make all feel welcome within our society.
