Executive Committee

Assalamu’Alaikum, I’m Ahmad, a PPEist at New College, and I’m the President of the Oxford ISoc for 2025/26.

My role involves supporting the committee, coordinating our projects, and helping shape the direction of the society over the year. I’m particularly focused on building a community that feels welcoming, purposeful, and rooted in the values of our deen. Whether it’s through regular classes, open discussions, or just shared meals, we want every student in Oxford to feel at home here.

“Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”
- {Quran 2:286}

Ahmad Dayyan
President
2nd Year | PPE | New College

Assalamu’alaikum, my name is Noora and I am this year’s Female Vice President! I work alongside Ahmad and Moosa to ensure that the society runs smoothly for the benefit of all our members. I look forward to supporting the committee in their endeavours and witnessing the prosperity of this society for Allah’s sake.

The Messenger of Allah, صلي الله عليه وسلم said actions are judged by their intentions and so I pray that Allah purifies the intentions of our committee members and accepts their efforts this year.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any suggestions or even just for a chat :)

”Put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful”
- {Quran 26:217}

Noora Al-Nemrat

Assalamualaikum, my name is Moosa, a Biologist at Jesus College, and I will be one of your Vice Presidents for 25/26.

As Vice President, I will support in leading the society and ensuring everything runs smoothly, working closely with Noora and Ahmad. I’m responsible for overseeing events, managing logistics, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for all members, coordinating communications, supporting committee members, and helping to resolve any issues that arise. As a former WOS, I hope to bring some vibes to the ISOC leadership (without being unserious inshallah)

As Muslims, we are taught to ask Allah frequently and to ask greatly. Suleyman (AS) asked for a kingdom unlike any other; I ask for the opportunity for Allah to use me to help the Muslim students of Oxford unlike ever before. May He grant me this request.

”Surely, it is Allah with whom rests the knowledge of the Hour; and He sends down the rain, and He knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no one knows in which land he will die. Surely, Allah is All Knowing, All Aware.”
- {Quran 31:34}

Moosa Bajwa

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Perhaps I shall receive intercession through them
And I hate he who trades in sins
Although we are both dealing in the same trade.”
- Imam Shafi'i رحمه الله

I’m Nazifa, a medic at Jesus College. As the RE Officer, my role entails being a cog in the ultimate goal of OUISoc; helping our community to gain nearness to Allah ﷻ. I hope to support both brothers and sisters in their personal journey of falling in love with Islam by arranging a plethora of events which seek to meet people at the level they are currently at. For me, to be an RE Officer for everyone means striving to incorporate individual feedback - please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions, suggestions or concerns.

 “Do not fear them; fear Me, so that I may ˹continue to˺ perfect My favour upon you and so you may be ˹rightly˺ guided.”
- {Quran 2:150}

Assalamu 'alaikum. As Islamic Awareness officer I hope to shed light on the reality of Islam to the Oxford community, that many are held back from due to deeply held misconceptions. I hope to tackle these through a range of events, including the much-anticipated Discover Islam Week.

”Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures.”
- {Quran 1:7}

I hope to encourage political education amongst Muslims, and to empower Muslims to use our voices, in the way laid out to us by the Deen, and how to navigate the political systems we live in.

”˹So˺ compete with one another for forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers. This is the favour of Allah. He grants it to whoever He wills. And Allah is the Lord of infinite bounty.”

I hope that I can make the Isoc as welcoming of a place for you as it was for me. Please do contact me if you're facing any issues at all or even if you just want a chat!! Assalamualaikum, I’m Ibrahim, a medic at Lincoln and I will be your access director for this year. My work focuses on bridging the gap between applying Muslim students and Oxford, demystifying the application process and showing that Oxford is a place we belong. As the access team, we run many events like offer holder days, school visits and the Muslim Access Conference. These all contribute to making Oxford less intimidating and applying more accessible, and at its core, highlighting that your faith can still be your priority when coming here.
I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about applying or university life, so please free to get in contact. Additionally, if any students want to get involved with access work and volunteer, do let me know as there are many opportunities to do so.

"Do not let the people of virtue and affluence among you swear to suspend donations to their relatives, the needy, and the emigrants in the cause of Allah. Let them pardon and forgive. Do you not love to be forgiven by Allah? And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
- {Quran 24:22}

My name is Hibah and I'm a medical student at New College. As alumni officer, I'm involved in maintaining connections with those who have left us. Our alumni at Oxford, by the Grace of Allah, often go onto high-flying careers that put them in positions where they have so much to give back to our ISOC; my role is to support them in doing just that. On top of being their point of contact, bi'ithnillah, I'll be organising the annual alumni dinner, hosting socials and insha'Allah inviting some as guest speakers / careers advisors to inspire and guide current students.

"...And He is with you wherever you are; He sees all that you do."
