Magazine Submissions

New: Submissions are now open!

Assalaamu’alaikum from the Magazine Team!

We are pleased to announce
submissions are now open
for the tenth issue of Ikhlaas: The OUISoc Magazine!

The theme for this issue is Ignite.

See below for more details

Community Works

We are looking for creative contributions relevant to the theme Ignite for our Community Works section, whether that’s poetry, art, photography or anything else.

Your submission could even serve as the magazine’s cover!

Submissions

Please email submissions to Bahira Malak at content.curator@ouisoc.org with your submission by Friday 19th January for a chance to be featured.

Jazakhallah Khair!

Current Affairs

We are also opening contributions for the Current Affairs articles. We are looking for writers who will address questions such as:

  • How is the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine shaping the global narrative? What actions can the international community take to address the challenges faced by the Palestinian people?

  • What factors are contributing to the complex humanitarian crises in places like Sudan and Congo?

  • How do global boycotts serve as a catalyst for change in social, political, and economic spheres?

  • How is Islamophobia impacting Muslim communities in the West?

  • What strategies can be employed to foster understanding, tolerance and counteract discriminatory practices?

  • Exploring the digital landscape, how is technology igniting Islamic discourse, community engagement and activism?

These are just a handful of suggestions; we look forward to seeing a range of responses to the theme of Ignite.

Submissions

Please use the form below to submit a preliminary title and 50-word synopsis by midnight Tuesday 5th January outlining the desired scope and direction of your proposal. Authors whose pitches we accept will be asked to write no more than 600 words pertaining to their synopsis, given 2 weeks’ notice.

If you have any questions regarding the above, please send them to magazine@ouisoc.org.

In the meantime, we very much look forward to receiving your submissions!
